"কোনো মানুহৰ ঘৰ একেদৰে নাথাকে, সময়ৰ সোঁতে সলাই নিয়ে আপোন ঘৰ, আপোন মানুহ।চিনাকি বাট তেতিয়া অচিনাকি হৈ যায়। এয়াই সত্য জীৱনৰ।"

There is a quiet happiness in exploring new places and hearing their gentle stories. 🌸
●One day, on a happy little whim ,I decided to visit Purani Amolapatty, Golaghat. Two dear student friends,Tillottama Saikia and Lakhirani Kalita, who always love to join me on these small adventures, came along. That day felt just right —like a little gift from life.
●We walked without any plan,
noticing every tiny detail around us.The old, vintage houses 🏡 stood quietly, like treasures full of memories waiting to be told.I took photos, wanting to hold their beauty close. 📸After nearly two hours of wandering,we started feeling tired and thought,
“It’s time to head home.” 🏠
●Just then,Tillottama spotted a house 👀that looked like a dream .I walked closer and saw it too —a home full of charm and warmth .Sitting on the verandah was an elderly woman ,smiling kindly and welcoming us like old friends. She shared little stories about her homewith gentle love. ❤️
●Suddenly, a young girl peeked from a window, then came outside. She smiled and said she recognized me —I had been the invigilator for her exam just a few days before. 🎓Her name was Krishna, the granddaughter of Manik Bora.Together, we looked around the house carefully, soaking in every sweet detail.I felt touched by the love and memories held in every corner. That day was more than just a walk —it was a warm, beautiful moment full of kindness and stories 🌟that will stay in my heart forever.
সেইয়া আছিল ,সংগীত পৰিচালক,বেহেলাবাদক মাণিক বৰাৰ ঘৰ।
তেওঁৰ বিষয়ে চমুকৈ:
🎓 After completing his college education at Kanoi College in Dibrugarh, Manik Bora moved to Kolkata to pursue higher studies, enrolling in Aircraft Maintenance. Alongside his technical education, he also nurtured his artistic side by learning the violin 🎻 under the guidance of the renowned Indian musician Shishi Kanadhor Chaudhury.
✨ Upon returning to Assam, Manik Bora devoted himself wholeheartedly to the cultural enrichment of his homeland. It was under his vision and dedication that the then Srimanta Rupban Kalakshetra came into being—an institution that would later flourish as the Srimanta Pratima Barua Rupban Sangeet Mahavidyalaya.
🎬 His journey in Assamese cinema as a music director began in 1973 with the film Mamata, which went on to receive the National Award for Best Assamese Film. From that point forward, his creative partnership with Basanta Bordoloi gave rise to the celebrated musical duo “Basanta-Manik.” Together, they composed the music for several beloved Assamese films such as:
- 🎵 Ghar-Sangsar (1983)
- 🎵 Sonmoina (1984)
- 🎵 Mon Mondir (1985)
- 🎵 Ei Desh Mor Desh (1986)
📺 Beyond films, Manik Bora also composed music for numerous television serials and directed the soundtrack for the 2005 film Astarag. His work with Sur Bahini—a musical ensemble formed by some of Assam’s finest artists under the initiative of Jayanta Hazarika—remains etched in the hearts of many.
🏆 For his remarkable contributions to the cultural landscape of Assam, Manik Bora has been honored on many occasions. In 2004, he was granted the prestigious Artist’s Pension by the Government of Assam. Later, in 2023, he was awarded the Jayanta Hazarika Award by the state’s Department of Culture.
